Running specific steps

Learn how to control the playback of your steps during recording

When you're recording your test, you may wish to replay your recording from the beginning or up to a specific step.

This allows you to resynchronize your application's state with your recorded steps or to make changes mid-way through your test.

Running from the start

If you need to run your test from the beginning, use the refresh button in the interactive browser.

This will reset the browser and replay your recorded steps from the beginning — useful if your application's state becomes out of sync with your test steps.

The Re-run Test from Start button resets the browser and replays all recorded steps.

Running up to a specific step

If you need to modify your test by adding steps between existing ones, you can run your test up to a specific step. Use the "Run Up to here" option next to the desired step in your test sequence.

This will replay your recorded steps up to the selected step and then pause execution. Any new actions you record will be inserted after the current step. This feature is particularly useful for inserting additional steps partway through your test.

The "Run Up to This Step" button replays your test up to a chosen step and then pauses.

Resuming playback

If you run your test up to a specific step, you can use the resume play button to continue replaying your test. This will run any remaining steps in the remote browser.

Click the "Resume" button to continue replaying the remaining steps in your test.
